When to travel: the ideal time to visit Jordan is March-May and October-November. Temperatures are pleasant in the winter months, but neither the Dead Sea nor the Red Sea are particularly suitable for swimming.

Program description:
Day 1: Trip to Amman                                                                                                                        
Departure from Budapest in the early morning by direct flight to Amman in the morning hours. Upon arrival, we will go for an excursion north of Amman. We visit the ancient Roman city of Jerash, where we can admire the surprisingly well-preserved buildings. Highlights include Hadrian's Triumphal Arch, the Temple of Zeus, the Northern and Southern Theatres, the Oval Forum, the Temple of Artemis, the Northern and Southern Gates, the Cardo Maximus and the Nymphaneum. In the afternoon, transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Amman (1 night).

Day 2: Madaba, Mt. Mt. Nebo, Kerak Castle.                                                                                             
Morning transfer to Madaba. Visit to the city's most famous attractions, the 6th century mosaic depicting the map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Travel on to Mount Nebo, which according to the Bible is the mountain that Moses climbed to get a glimpse of the Promised Land before he died. Kerak, the most important Crusader castle in the Holy Land, was built in the 12th century. On a clear day, the high ground offers a magnificent view of the Dead Sea. Continue to Petra, check in to the hotel (2 nights).

Day 3: Petra                                                                                                                                                
We spend the whole day exploring Petra. Crossing the 1 km long rocky gorge, we reach the former capital of the Nabateans, admiring the monumental temples, theatres, tombs and dwellings of the red rock city. In the evening, the group will enjoy a fantastic experience, admiring the candle-lit view of the ancient city as part of the Petra by night program.

Day 4: Wadi Rum, Aqaba                                                                                                                      
In the morning we drive to Aqaba. En route we take a 3-hour jeep tour of the desert of Wadi Rum, through sand dunes and rock formations reminiscent of lunar landscapes. Check-in to the hotel in the center of Aqaba, in the afternoon hours, free program (2 nights).

Day 5: Aqaba                                                                                                                                              
Free program, relaxation.
Optional: boat trip and snorkeling tour on the Red Sea with lunch (approx. 2-3 hours with transfer to the port and back) Price: approx. 60 USD/person.

Day 6: Ma In Waterfall, Dead Sea.                                                                                                     
We say goodbye to Aqaba and travel towards the Dead Sea. On the way we visit the Hammamat Main thermal waterfall, where we can take a dip or relax in the natural sauna of the caves behind the waterfall. Check in to the hotel that is located on the shores of the Dead Sea, in the afternoon hours (1 night) and, depending on the time of arrival, we may also take a dip in the Dead Sea. The lake, which lies between Israel and Jordan, is famous for its high salt content, which makes bathers' bodies float effortlessly on the water.

Day 7: Bethany, Amman                                                                                                                         
A morning visit to Bethany that is located at the banks of the Jordan River, where according to the Bible Jesus was baptized by St. John the Baptist. In the afternoon, we return to Amman to see the city's main attractions. We conclude our journey with a farewell dinner in Amman. Accommodation in Amman (1 night).

Day 8: Return home                                                                                                                                     
In the morning transfer to Amman airport, direct flight, arrival in Budapest at noon.
