When to travel: Year-round destination with a typical tropical climate. The air temperature is 25-32 C all year round, the ocean water is also pleasant, around 27 C. The high season in the south and west is from November to April, when the weather is drier. In the east and north of the country, the best season for travelling is from May to October.

Program description:
Day 1: Airport/Negombo
Meet and greeted by your driver with flower garlands at Colombo airport, the first leg of the journey. Drive to Negombo, check in and breakfast followed by a day of relaxation
Dinner and accommodation: Jetwing Blue hotel in Negombo.

 

Day 2: Negombo/Pinnawala/Habarana
After an early breakfast, we visit the fish market in Negombo to learn about local fishing methods. Afterwards, travel to the Millennium Elephant Foundation where you will have the opportunity to observe the elephants when fed and bathed. The program will be followed by lunch. After lunch, we will continue our journey to the center of the Cultural Triangle, where the huge Sigiriya Rock stands.
Arrive at the hotel, enjoy a welcome drink and check into your room.
In the evening you will witness a cultural dance performance by the local people.
Dinner and accommodation: Cinnamon Lodge Habanara hotel.

 

Day 3: Habarana/Sigiriya/Habarana
After breakfast, drive to the center of the Cultural Triangle, where Sri Lanka's most precious historical monument, the mighty Sigiriya Rock stands. Defined by the locals as the 8th wonder of the world, the ancient palace and fortress complex is of considerable archaeological importance. Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a late evening jeep safari to Minneriya National Park.

Day 4: Habarana/Kandy
After breakfast Experience village tour including ox cart, cooking class, village walk and boat ride.
Sri Lankan lunch at village house.
Drive along the mountain road to the last capital kingdom of Sri Lanka (Travel time 02 hours 30 minutes, 100 km)
Dinner and accommodation: Golden Crown Hotel*****

 

Day 5: Kandy/Bentota
After breakfast, visit the Tooth Relic Temple, which includes the Royal Palace complex and the Tooth of Buddha Temple. Located in the holy city of Kandy, the complex is an icon of heritage, today home to the sacred tooth oracle of the Buddha.
The program continues with a visit to the Gem Museum, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
Dinner and accommodation: Cinnamon Bey Beruwala.

 

Day 6: Bentota/Balapitiya/Bentota
After breakfast, the first stop will be the Madu Boat safari, one of the rarely visited and unspoilt natural attractions in Sri Lanka. This enchanting landscape will be a memorable experience for all nature lovers.
Next, a visit to the turtle hatchery farm where you can meet turtle hatchlings. The farm aims to save Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction, caring for them until they are strong enough to be released into the ocean. The main egg-laying season is from October to April, but some eggs can be found all year round.
We then visit the Dutch fort at Galle Bay, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, first built by the Portuguese in 1588 and then extensively fortified by the Dutch.
Lunch at the local restaurant Rampart.
Dinner and accommodation: Cinnamon Bey Beruwala.

 

Day 7: Bentota/Colombo/Negombo
Morning hours are spent relaxing by the pool, then the itinerary heads us to the commercial city of Sri Lanka.
Lunch at a local sea food restaurant.
Dinner and accommodation at the Kingsbury Hotel.

 

Day 8: Negombo/Report
Early morning transfer to the airport and travel home.
