The Galapagos Islands are a real paradise for nature lovers, and visitors can have the experiences of a lifetime. In the territory of the archipelago, which has been cut off from the mainland for thousands of years, the visitor will find unusual flora and fauna that cannot be found elsewhere: giant turtles, marine iguanas, blue-legged jacks or equatorial penguins. The islands are part of the Galápagos National Park and were recently added to the World Heritage List. The national park can be visited subject to strict regulations, only a certain number of visitors can enter its territory each year and at any one time, only as part of an organized tour, accompanied by official guides. Each island has something special to offer: unusual geological formations, turtle nesting sites, rare bird species, rippling lava flows or snow-white beaches.
Due to its favorable geographical location (along the Equator), it can be visited almost all year round, there are no big differences between the seasons. Between January and June, the weather is warmer and slightly more humid, and short showers can also occur. Between July and December, drier, but cooler weather welcomes visitors, but even then the temperature does not drop below 20 °C. During the excursions, it is also possible to observe the marine fauna. It is worth considering that between May and November the water is cooler (approx. 16-20 °C), thanks to the Humboldt current coming from Antarctica. During this period, you can only dive in a wetsuit, but the other months provide excellent opportunities for diving without a wetsuit - between December and April, the sea temperature is between 24-28 °C.

Why Celebrity Xpedition?
Celebrity is the only major cruise line in the area year-round.
Celebrity Cruises is the only major luxury cruise company in the Galapagos Islands and has the most advanced hardware background in the area.
Celebrity is the only major cruise line in the area year-round.
Celebrity XpeditionSM offers the only truly all-inclusive package.
Celebrity XpeditionSM boasts the best guest-to-crew ratio in Celebrity's fleet: 60 crew to 92 guests. The guest satisfaction rate is also the highest here.
The naturalists employed by Celebrity are by far the best professionals in the Galapagos Islands. All of them are Galápagos National Park certified and most have degrees in marine biology and geology.
The ratio of naturalists employed by Celebrity Cruises to guests also gives a favorable value: there is 1 naturalist for every 14 guests, which is one of the lowest ratios in the region. This favorable value not only makes it possible for a really close relationship and communication to develop between the researchers and the guests, but also has a beneficial effect on the quality of education, helps the researchers to pass on the richest and most in-depth knowledge about the local flora and fauna, about the geological conditions, the historical geography of the individual islands.
Celebrity XpeditionSM offers its guests an open, relaxed, friendly, almost homely, intimate environment on board: there is no seating at meals, the bridge and galley are open.
There are no dress codes, informal, relaxed clothing is allowed everywhere - a t-shirt and shorts are perfect for dinner as well.
The motto of the cruise company: "Take home only memories and leave nothing but your footprints behind!"
Celebrity XpeditionSM offers 2 types of 7-night itineraries. The change of the previous route 1 was necessary for environmental protection reasons, so a ship that docks in one place less often disturbs the protected fauna and flora less.
Any 7-night cruise can be combined with the cruise company's land-based programs, which can be +3, +4 or +6 +8-night packages from 2016. We definitely recommend booking one of the packages, because in addition to exploring the capital of Ecuador, Quito, or even the hidden treasures of Peru, the package price also includes an internal flight ticket between Quito and Baltra.
